Cycling in the Rain

listening to Humboldt 101 on iTunes, it's great internet music. comparable to Lite Fm.
the weather is cool. it makes me think that Mother Nature is defeating the neighbourhood haze by pouring cold water all over the place.
yesterday, the school flooded for the second time since I entered form 6. it rained quite late around 12.30pm and so by the time school's over, you got your mini Venice without the proper gondolas.
I'm not so concerned about getting myself wet. I just want to reach my 'boat' and get home to prepare for theory lessons.
I took off my shoes and socks without a care in the world and walked through the flood barefoot until i reach my bike and put back on the shoes.
it's been quite some time that i got really wet (not counting bathing of course).
http://www.emailcashpro.com
I remember being so wet when i was in the murky pond in NS and that I also did with relish coz i have the comfort of being really comfortable with the life jackets and i was able to swim anyway.
i had my NS cap on to keep the rain from blinding my vision and got home in no time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I watched The Shawshank Redemption and Desperado today.
the former movie was very interesting since it was originally written into a novel by Stephen King, King of Horror.
This movie was no horror at all; it's mostly about wit and patience.
I didn't really like Desperado a lot eventhough the famous Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek were in it.
It was a little comical after watching and thinking it through.
And so, i highly recommend anyone to watch The Shawshank Redemption. Seeing that it is a S. King work, he's story will not fail to impress you on screen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
tomorrow, got another school replacement class for the Deepavali or Raya holidays.
the finals will be on Oct 13th. Mr Leow almost gave all of us a heart attack if I have not seen Pn Adliyah changing the dates on the school office white board.
I'm going to fail meeting my primary school friends again since they are going to gather at Sunway tomorrow morning at 11am; i'm out too often anyway. so maybe this is a change to do what i'm suppose to do.

Signs off,
going to do mikro essay now.

An overly decorated cake

Last Saturday(I bet by now the others have blogged about it), met up with LK and the gang at Modern to see Vicky whom has finally gave her time to us. Gosh girl! You shd have left a note with someone more reliable. Anyway, while me, LK, Bren and Jac were chatting away, Vicky finally turn up and OMGosh!!!!!!!

She was the prettiest sight that i have seen in months. The last i saw her she was dressed quite conservatively. Now, she's more fashionable than ever with longer and straighter bangs and LIPSTICK!!!! People sure change a lot in such a relatively short period of time.

It was happy hour for a while until I thought I was dozing off 'coz they were talking about college. what to do... college stuff seems irrelevant to me...

and then....."BANG!" I saw a very familiar girl in tudung and both of us start screaming(or more like yelling at each other) and start hugging. I know I saw her a couple of weeks back for my bday bash but I didn't know she was back this weekend. Anyway, Iona and Aisha were there too and what a gathering.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm a lil' annoyed today if not for that 'thing'.
Sometimes I just wonder if there's a need for such excitement.
It's a thing that happens every year and giving something away at that particular day this year will not make a difference. Kind of pointless since you see the person 5 times a week.
I barely know everyone well enough to bother giving something. I mean, you guys didn't bother about mine when it was the time, so, why I should I bother about anybody else?
thank goodness it will end at the end of next year, just can't wait to get flying colours and conquer the world.
A Laughing Matter
My dad bought a new Panasonic 50 inch plasma. Love the sleeky black colour.
Anyway, the hugeness of it caused me to watch an action and a comedy this afternoon.
The remake of Ocean's Eleven was a nice watch. It reminds me of The Sting. In the beginning, I thought that the characters tak ada kerja buat 'cause Danny Ocean (George Clooney) finds fun in planning a heist. However, the plan is convincing enough if you're crazy to even think about it. I mean a team of 11 smart men robbing 3 casinos of the same owner and of very complicated security systems that are supposely undefeatable. So feel crazy when watching the movie. In the end, it was done in the name of love; Danny just wants his wife, Tess (Julia Roberts) back.
George Clooney
Brad Pitt
Watching hot guys on BIG screen is like @_@
Humour is so indirect that I can't help not laughing.
5 of the original Ocean's 11, most of them Rat Pack members, think Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.
I continued to watch Corky Romano. Judging by the movie title, expect horny-ness. It wasn't very horny but horny enough to get you laughing. Corky is really wacky, happy and quirky person. He comes close to being too sissy for his mafia family that he literrally sent away from home after his mother passed away. He has two brothers, one whom is illiterate and the other a homosexual but both are indenial of this fact since Pops (their father) don't tolerate such nonsense.
Anyway, Pops is being investigated by the FBI under an accusatation of murder. Since Pops is getting too old as his body starts to land him in bed, the Romano family decided to bring in the outcasted son back to help out since blood means trust. They made him infiltrate the FBI to get the evidence against Pops by pretending to be a real FBI Agent. The show is really funny as he plays 80s songs which might annoy you because of his extra happy-huggy personality. The ending is a happy one. I only have one complaint which is the movie gets really unrealistic at times as I felt the script kinds of ignore reality.
he accidentally sniffed coccaine and became like this.
since Pops under surveillance, Corky gets in the house by really WEIRD disguises.
Cemerlang Gemilang Terbilang/Tanggal 31
After singing energetically for 2 days, the bad effects kicked in.
No. I'm not having a sore throat but close to having one if I don't take caution.
I'm feeling heaty now meaning tight jaws and migraine. Hopefully I can carry the performance tomorrow.
Funny things do happen today too. I get news about this and news about that.
I finally developed my NS and mischellaneous photos. costed me only 35 cents a piece because the photoshop was having a promotion.
I failed 3 subjects: PA, accs and econs(2 papers for the sub but i pass actually if i used the actual marking format). No tears because it is my first test for the alien subjects that i'm trying to befriend.
there's a dinner gathering at modern this sat to see vignes.
More stories about NS in Iona's blog.
Signing off,
Karaoke?
It would be helpful if you watch this video first to understand what I'm going to talk about the other video posted below.
I posted this video on youtube for a very long time.
As you can see, I was playing Moon River on piano. Nevermind if you don't know the song but watch this video now and turn you speakers right up 'cause the recording is very very very soft.
This video was posted quite recently. In fact, just two days ago.
I got a shock of my life when this girl send me a message at youtube about this video. Little did I now she recorded her singing with my piano playing. Bren said I should be happy. Indeed, I'm happy that a person made good use of my recording and this girl is a capable singer if not I will accuse her of stealing my recording. At the same time it was funny. This is because I've never seen such a video before.
Whaddaya think?
National Service - one year ago since my 17th birthday
One year ago, on my birthday, believe it or not, I cried right in front of the computer screen staring at what I thought was a very bleak future. It took sometime for it to sink it in but the anchor of my heart just got stuck in mid-air/water. However, I quickly regain my composure and hoped to blow everyone away with this post.
As you have read, I decided to motivate myself and I got even more lucky with this.
It wasn't a bad feeling and to know that I wasn't going far was even better. It got even more exciting when I received this.
In other words, I just can't wait to start and get over it.
I thought I would never tear up when I stepped into the bus. Tears start flowing when we hit the highway. It was meant to happen anyway.
Rewards awaited me in these 3 trying months but the load was eased when I met these people.
Tong Shu Qin and me. She's my best bud in camp. We almost always talk each other to sleep.
Thenmoli, me and Shella. They're the cutest in dorm 1.
Me and Chu. Love her to bits and it was very interesting to speak a different language with her: mandarin.
Me and Shella. We also call her our teddy bear! ^^
Group pic. Aeon company warriors. Hahax...
Me, Suejeetha, Sarah, Keng and Shu Qin. Friends forever!
Me and Liew. He prefers to be called L. I have no idea why.
Me and Joanne Ng Zu Wern. Nice to know another person from hometown; she's from Convent.
Wanir, Chu (also), me and Siti Puan.
Siti Khadijah, Suria(my company's wirawati leader, a great leader), Alin, Usmawatun, Me, Shella and Nisa
Me, Gee, Sue and Linda
Me and Eqa. Another great chinese speaking friend. It was cool.
Apart from these people, close friends and family were still around to help me keep up with the NS spirit.
My family: sis, Dad, me and Mum
Me and Iona. Thanks for visiting me!
Me, Yin Xian and Kar Yee. Yin Xian was at my camp to claim her prize money.
Me and Kar Yee again. Both of us are wearing my clothes
Kar Yee and Me. We looks so 'yao ying'. Teeheehee....XD
Me and Prema. She's my form 5 classmate. What a coincidence. ^^
Kar Yee and me again. XDXDXD We're such good NS companions.
Front: Vui Li, Shu qin, Me and Peggy.
Back: Sharon Wong and Sharon Ho.
Cikgu Linda and Me. She's one of the camp trainers that I liked and admired.
Me and Joanne Wee. We're such great friends on Korean Drama mania.
These people really colour my world and it was nice to know them too! With these people, I will also never forget the places that made it even more meaningful.
What you're looking at is the back of Batu Caves and a golf course.
The tapak berkawad and the area for kembara halangan.
The long journey to the canteen.
The canteen.
Looking down from the dorm gate.
Looking down from the office. Always gathered there early in the morning for the physical exercise.
The kiosk. The place where we spent money on food that we missed.
My dorm. It is much neater in the morning. All the girl's dorm in my camp fits about 25 beds. My dorm has only 22 people in the beginning.
Outside my dorm.
Night scene outside my dorm
My bed and locker.
Moreover, I will also not forget these small things:
I was dorm leader before I left camp early.
I'll never forget the monkeys(beruk) overturning the rubbish bin.
From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate Aisha, Brendan and Lay Kuan for being selected. I know some of you don't even like to be congratulated for this but this is based from my experience. It is up to you in the end to escape law the hard way or the easy way. There's no need to feel anger either.
I wish others good luck too. It's an experience that you don't get everyday. Hearing that you might make the best it will be good news.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
This an extra for those who are selected for NS and going for it:-
  1. M-16. Although it is a tool of destruction, it is still good to know how a gun/rifle functions. Note that military officers are present during the M-16 training and they're actually quite friendly. You gain extra knowledge about these weapons too when they explain to you parts of the weapon. My experience in handling the M-16 was superb. I had a temporary souvenir from the M-16 via slightly bruised shoulder. Anyway, it's exciting!!! (It's up to you and your parents
  2. Kembara halangan aka obstacles course. It was pretty challenging for me but what the heck! It was fun fun fun and for the first time in my life, you can say I was 'un-neat' physically.
  3. Getting to know people from other states is an extra star for you. You get to know their different accents when they speak BM. Terengganu BM is especially interesting; lapan(number eight) is pronounced as lapang which could also mean field/space in proper(?) BM. Listening to stories from them was another past time.
  4. Working as a team at all times. It was very challenging for me but I soon learn that it is a must when you strive to be the best of the best.
  5. Eating 6 meals a day:breakfast, brunch, lunch, evening tea, dinner and supper. Seems like a lot of food? However, it is a must to get back your energy. It's up to you whether you want to eat your teas.
  6. Waking up at 5am and sleeping at 11pm. This daily routine is suppose to help us in having a more healthy and productive lifestyle.
  7. Modules: Physical training, character building classes, cultural classes and community service.
  8. Free clothes for all types of activities. 2 sets of celoreng, 2 sets of baju sukan, 2 sets baju kelas, marching cap, sports cap, socks of white, black, grey, belts, sport shoes, boots, class shoes(high heel for girls)
  9. Family visits once in every two weeks, the camp trainers will inform you anyway.
  10. Other fun activites besides the ones stated in the module: sukaneka, water games competition(camps against other camps), M-16, dinner parties(surprised to hear this? but there are such majlis), cultural performances etc.
  11. Monthly allowance of RM150. This means you get RM450 at the end of your training.
That's all that I can think for now.
If my dear readers are interested to know more, you know where to find me. ^_^
